Lure Eyes
Has anyone used any of the lighted fishing lures or any lures with fiber optic eyes? Do these really work?
I fish on the upper Mississippi River and am curious if anyone else has tried these lighted lures. Some are called LED and other brands are called electronic. Some have replacable batteries and some don’t. These lures are more expensive than “regular” fishing lures,but if they actually attract the fish into biting, they would be worth it. Thanks for any info.
I would be wary of the lures themselves, I’m not saying don’t buy them if you want them. It’s your hard earned money. Just don’t invest a whole lot of money at first. Only buy the ones that relate closest to your fishing style. I’ve never used these lures but I’ve read mixed reviews about them. My only personal experience was night fishing with lighted bobbers. Now, I’m not a bobber kinda of guy. But you could see the bobber more easily and we caught a lot of fish that night. It improved our hook setting ratio in a nighttime setting. And fish are attracted to light. I’ve used the crappie lights at night fishing off of boats and they work. Just be very cautious and see if they have a money back guarantee.

4 Top Lures You Can Use For Fishing
Nowadays, several lures especially those used for various species have already developed. This was attributed by the evolution of the different fishing accessories and gears as well as the development of the industry of the bass fishing.
Several classes or types of fishing lures are available in the market. These depends on the species if fish. Most lures work only for specific species of fish but there are also some that can be used for different fish species.
Here is a list of some common fishing lure
1. light standard casting lures- these lures have the ability to attract many fish like the crappies, oho, bonita, bluefish and albacore. These kinds of lure also work best on certain fishes like bass fish especially when withdrew from water at a low to moderate speed. Also, they pass along the water at an undetectably synthetic material. Ranging from 1/16 oz to 3 oz, these lures sizes are great for fishes which are light weight as well as species on freshwater. It has a manually painted eye which allows fish schooling. Through this, more chances of catching the target fish is attained.
2. heavy standard casting lures- these are great for fishes which seem heavy, like the bass and walleye fishes. Its heavy counterpart allows for more reliable fishing catches. In addition, this kind of lures have the ability to catch more fishes than other lures like the light standard catching lures and the diamond lures.
3. jigging/long casting lures- these might be the most famous lures to use in fishing, especially in Louisiana, Mississippi and Florida. Recently, long casting lures was found out to be excellent in fishing for pike and trout. Also, it was found out that these kind of lures are effective in catching bluefish and stripers. These can even catch walleye and tuna easily. However, these lures are not expected to have a good fishing output at 180-200 ft. below water surface. 4. deadly diamond lures. These kind of lures have a size ranging to 1/8- 1 oz and is considered one of the smallest kind of lure. Deadly diamond lure have the ability to easily attract fishes’ attention and allows to form a school of fish in just 1 minute. Its secret lies at its formation of structural surface and cut. Its handle on the top is cut like a diamond which causes reflection of light that strikes on the surface. These lures are great for fishing stripers, crappie and bass fish varieties.
