Fishing Nip
Which of these fish are biting?
Okay, so we only have 6 new fish to add to a 55 gallon tank of 18 fish. However, 6 were 3 zebra danios and 3 Rasboras scissortail. But recently scissortail tails are looking like being cut out. I wondered what fish were biting the tail: I have: black cherry barbs tetras neon tetras neon tetras danios zebra glowlight bloodfins Thanks, the answers helped me.
Danios are notoriously nippy fish, however, a group of 6, this is relatively rare (but certainly not unknown). Bloodfins also have a tendency to cut … Scissortails as Rasboras are schooling fish, and 3 fish do not school. It is very possible they are nipping at eachother to become dominant … Adding approximately 3-4 more Scissortails should alleviate the problem. EDIT: peaceful fish are VERY Cherry Barbs. Tiger Spike, on the other hand, are not. The likelihood of stings is very unlikely. EDIT: Oh God, people … Please either of these fish itself or at least do some research on them before calling Nippy … http://www.aquatic-hobbyist.com/profiles/freshwater/cyprinids/cherry.html http://www.fishlore.com/Profiles-CherryBarbs.htm
