Multiple or fixed spool reel?
Looking to get a beachcaster while in s.shields Doon, NAE sure what to enter in relation to the cane and reel, a multiple or fixed spool? I'm not sure the advantages of either. My old bar is a fixed coil, so I have great rings in the bottom the rod in place of smaller and smaller rings. Is there any benefit or pleasure I continue with a setting of FS? Just gunna be fishing off piers and beaches, looking to get a rod of 12 to 16 ft, 8 oz load Oh yes, is it worth going for a telescopic for easy storage and transportation (I live in halls accommodation, so they do not have a garage!)
I think (in American terms) are wondering about the difference between a conventional ( "multiplier") and a spinning reel (coil fixed ") reel. Since the two coils work differently, personal preference is to enter into the decision. Spinners are more easy to cast, whereas with the conventional ones have to slow down the reel with your thumb to avoid setbacks, however, allows tighter control over their models. Personally, I like conventional reels, especially if I'm casting heavy weights (about 8 ounces), but I believe that most surf fishermen prefer to spin, and since that's what we're used to, I would go with that. Telescopic rods do not think (the slide of the parts inside the other for transportation) are especially strong, I would suggest a 2 or 3 rod piece (where the pieces are separated) instead. (One piece rods are best, but a 12-footer is much less than you live on the beach.) Hope this helps.
