How can I connect the bare ground wire to the same bus bar to the neutral line blank in the electrical panel?
I just installed a new circuit with a new switch with 20amp # 12 ROMEX. Black wire goes to switch white to the bus line. I just connect the third line, the line naked into the box, but did not feel right for me. I have connected to the nuetral bus line with the white line of others as well? I see no relationship in which other lines was discovered. This is a subpanel with an existing line 220. My new line switch and is 110V.
There are two situations where there may be a difference. If the panel is connected to your main service panel, then it is right to land, both the white ground wire (neutral) and green or bare equipment grounding conductor to the same busbar. If on the other hand, this is a remote panel, say, in a garage or dependence, busbar neutral and equipment ground bars should be separate, and the neutral bus bar should be insulated from the steel components of the group. It is obvious that you have. If you see green and / or bare wires go to a different part of the white wires, put yours in the same place.
