How to remove blanket weed?

I have a small pond (4 feet by 2.5 feet) and I am plauged blanket weed. I have tried using straw extract Buster barley and blanket weed. The water is clear, but the blanket weed habit disappears. I have tried to manually remove a suit, but again after a week or two. I have 1 water lily pond and a little grass in Canada, there are no fish in the pond.
