What does the ejector rod of a Colt Detective Special used for? What is an ejector rod?
Thanks for the first four answers so quickly! Is it removable? I am really interested in the third generation version of the C.D.S. I don’t know a whole lot about guns, so I don’t know if it makes a difference.
It pushes the spent cartridge out of the cylinder so it can be removed. When a cartridge is fired, it expands in the chamber and tends to be very tight.
